Our pupils embraced a range of engaging activities this week, combining classroom learning with practical, hands-on experiences.
Remember, remember
This half term, our Primary pupils are exploring non-fiction reading in English. This week, they discovered the origins of Bonfire Night, learning about the story of Guy Fawkes. They used this new knowledge to answer questions and develop their reading comprehension skills.
Edible fireworks at Bushcraft
Learning continued outdoors during Bushcraft, where pupils made their own edible fireworks! Using flint and steel, they lit the fire, melted chocolate and drizzled it over breadsticks before adding colourful sprinkles. A fun, hands-on activity that was enjoyed by all!
Staying safe on Bonfire Night
Our Secondary pupils also learned about the history of the Gunpowder Plot and watched Tyne and Wear’s fire safety video to understand how to stay safe during Bonfire Night celebrations.
Footgolf at Morpeth
There was also time for fun and friendly competition as pupils enjoyed a footgolf session at Morpeth Family Golf Centre!
It’s been fantastic to see our pupils learning, developing new skills and making the most of the opportunities on offer.
Well done, everyone, for a brilliant start to this half term!
