A nurturing, outdoor-led start for pupils who need a smaller, kinder, more hands-on kind of school.

A GENTLE, CONFIDENT START

Our Primary Provision is designed for younger pupils who find mainstream school overwhelming. Before we worry about catching up, we focus on helping each child feel safe, settled and ready to learn — and from there, confidence and progress grow.

What to expect…

Stepping into a new educational setting is a big moment, but at Adventure in Learning, we believe every day is a fresh start. Explore the sections below to discover how our unique blend of core academics and outdoor adventure works day-to-day. Still have questions? Reach out to our team anytime.

Adventure in Learning is an alternative provision in Newcastle for children in Years 3 to 6. Most arrive through one of three routes: a school commissioning a placement alongside their roll, often to fill a part-time timetable; a local authority arranging provision for a child with an EHCP while a specialist place is found; or a referral where attendance has broken down and school has stopped feeling possible.

We work with children with SEMH needs and SEND, with or without an EHCP. Placements can be full-time or part-time, and where a child is out of school altogether, we can usually start within days of the first conversation.
