Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer transport? We offer a range of solutions designed to meet your needs—whether you're just getting started or scaling something bigger. Everything is tailored to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
What are the fees and costs?Every child who comes to us has a different package, so we don't have a one-size-fits-all price. The fairest thing is to have a chat and give you a quote based on the days and the level of support a child actually needs. Most of our placements are funded by the child's school or local authority, and we're happy to deal with them directly on the paperwork and invoicing. If you're a parent wanting to arrange something privately, just get in touch and we'll talk you through it.
What happens when the placement isn't going to plan?We work within a clear service level agreement, but before anything else, we sit down with the young person's school or local authority and look at what's not working and why. More often than not there's a way to adjust the plan, the support or the pace to get things back on track — and we'd always rather try that first. If a placement genuinely isn't the right fit, we'll be honest about that too, and work with everyone involved to find the best next step for the young person.
How do you know pupils are progressing? We provide regular updates, attendance information and progress reports. We work closely with schools and local authorities to ensure everyone remains informed.
Can I visit before making a referral?Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a call—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.Absolutely. We welcome visits from schools and local authority professionals so they can see our provision and meet our team.
How do you keep pupils safe?Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We have robust safeguarding procedures, trained staff, comprehensive risk assessments and clear policies to ensure every young person feels safe and supported.
How quick can a placement begin?Depending on availability, placements can often begin within a matter of days following consultation, risk assessment and agreement of support.
What age groups do you support? We support pupils from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 4, tailoring our provision to each individual's needs, interests and educational targets.
How do I make a referral?Simply complete the referral interest form and we will get back to you. From there, we'll arrange an initial meeting and work with you to determine whether Adventure in Learning is the right provision.
Do you offer a trial day?Yes, we do. Before committing to a placement, a young person can come and spend a day with us to see how it feels — for them and for us. It's a low-pressure way to check the fit is right before anything's set in stone. Just get in touch and we'll arrange a date that works.
How do I book in a quality assurance visit?Schools and local authorities are welcome to come and see the setting for themselves at any time — just get in touch with us directly to arrange a date. We're happy to show you around, answer any questions and talk through how a placement would work in practice.
Do you provide transition support?Yes. We work with the referring school beforehand to understand what's worked and what hasn't, and we ease pupils in gently rather than starting them on a full timetable. When a young person's ready to move on — back to mainstream, a specialist provision, college, an apprenticeship or a job — we support that transition too, working alongside the next setting to make the handover smooth.
